Our customer decided to restructure its business operations and merge the activities of two of its business units as one of the outcomes of a strategic review. The main reason for the merger was the considerable overlap in the market approach and their duplicated client and client-related activities.
It is in this context that the customer initiated a project to harmonise, streamline and implement the new business unit’s processes, organisation and underpinning business support tools in EMEA and the USA.
The customer requested the support of a team from Voorne Partners to manage this project, in close collaboration with the customer.
Cross-regional and cross-functional teams reviewed the existing business processes of the two business units against the approved reference model, identified gaps and continuous improvement opportunities and effectively implemented the agreed streamlined business processes.
With the support of an external IT service provider, a business system (single global SAP platform) supporting the customer’s market segmentation approach and underpinning the aligned business processes was successfully implemented.
In close cooperation with the business unit’s management team, Voorne Partners also designed the organizational structure of the business unit, driven by business processes and managed by cross-functional teams within a culture of continuous improvement.
The project was delivered fully in line with the customer’s pre-defined project acceptance criteria and within time and budget.
