Asset utilisation & technology

Using existing technology to optimise asset utilisation can provide a real competitive edge in so-called 'mature' markets. Here, "plants should sweat". That means cost levels and investment returns can be optimised by applying current technology to ensure maximum utilisation of assets.

In order to achieve this, certain questions must be asked. Are assets being used at optimum capacity, speed and flexibility? Is energy and materials' consumption as low as possible? Is manpower reduced to optimal levels? Is the technological expertise of suppliers and customers integrated into current processes? Has in- and out-sourcing been optimised? Is continuous improvement taking place? Are S&OP, planning and scheduling processed integrated to make the best use of technology? Are ideas for improvement taken up and fully implemented?

We have developed a methodology for analysing and increasing asset utilisation. This includes benchmarking (not limited to the company's specific industry), activity and cost analysis, process and organisation modelling, plus total supply chain and continuous improvement models.

Voorne Partners' approach is based on three key elements: business knowledge, creativity and common sense. Our experience shows that the combined forces of your experts and Voorne Partners' expertise will maximise asset utilisation - it really will "make the plants sweat."
